TxDOT widening US 290

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and contractors began work on Monday, October 29, on a $2.8 million highway widening project. Improvements will include a left turn lane and shoulders along the one-half mile stretch of US Highway 290 E from Mariposa Drive to just east of Old San Antonio Road in Fredericksburg. Construction is anticipated to take approximately nine months to complete. Drivers are urged to use caution while in the area.
