Golf Course Closed for Major Renovations
Although the public Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course is closed through early fall for renovations, you can still practice hitting balls or your swing in Fredericksburg at this facility’s practice range. Once renovations are complete, this beautiful 18-hole course will be brought to United States Golf Association (USGA) specifications, with improved putting surfaces, rebuilt sand bunkers and improved cart asphalt pathways. And to ensure the greens stay green, the course irrigation system will also be upgraded and will continue to use gray water. Stop by this golf course on U.S. Hwy 16 S. for breakfast and lunch at the grill (open daily except for Monday mornings) and to watch the progress. And starting in late February, resident head golf pro, Alan Wooley, will give Thursday evening ‘progress’ tours of the facility. To receive e-mailed updates on the renovations and these tours, call the pro shop at (830) 997-4010 to be added to the recipient e-mail list.
