Garrison Brothers Bourbon Dinner at Fredericksburg Herb Farm – June 21
Garrison Brothers Distillery is the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas. On Thursday, June 21st you can meet with Dan Garrison, proprietor, while sipping fine straight bourbon whiskey and enjoying a four course meal prepared especially for the occasion by Asa Thornton, Executive Chef at the Fredericksburg Herb Farm.
A meet and greet with Dan Garrison is scheduled for 5PM – 7PM in the Bistro Bar at the Herb Farm; specialty bourbon cocktails will be featured during the evening. Dinner will be served at 7PM for $89/person (plus tax and gratuity); seating is limited and reservations are required. Dinner will be served in the Farm Haus Bistro at the Herb Farm. The first course, seared buffalo carpaccio with arugula, shallots, capers, parmesan crisp, white truffle oil, lemon, sea salt and fresh cracked pepper, will be followed by a curried vegetable risotto with shaved prosciutto and thyme served with a selection of vegetables from the local farmer’s market. The main course will be a bourbon barrel smoked prime New York Strip with chimichurri, ginger braised carrots and parsnips, and a maple bourbon chocolate pecan pie with vanilla bean whipped cream will be served for dessert.
Garrison Brothers Distillery is located in Hye, Texas, just 20 miles East of Fredericksburg on highway 290. Their bourbon is handcrafted from organic yellow corn from the Texas Panhandle, premium organic winter wheat grown right on their own ranch, two-row barley from the Pacific Northwest and Canada as well as fresh Hill Country rainwater that’s harvested and purified on site.
